a type of breakfast food consisting of thin crisp strips of wheat shaped into larger pieces. It is eaten with milk and sometimes sugar. It is well known in Britain because of its television advertising, which sometimes shows sports stars giving it to their children, or humorous situations suggesting that it is difficult to eat more than two pieces of Shredded Wheat.
